Nashville:
Senator Bo Watson
317 War Memorial Building
Nashville, TN 37243-0131
1-800-449-8366
ext. 13227
Dear Friends,
The General Assembly returned to session at 12:00, Noon, January 8, 2008. Of course that means for the next few months I will be spending more time in Nashville at our state capitol and less time in my home district, the 11th senatorial district.

This should be an interesting session. First, it is an election year for ½ the senate and all of the house- that always makes for more political fireworks! Second, the slowing state economy will make for some challenging decisions by the general assembly. This will require is to be disciplined in the use of your tax dollars (as we always should be).

I am looking forward to the challenges of this session. As always, I look forward to input from my constituents on all of the various issues. Please do not hesitate to contact me by phone, letter, or e-mail. If you visit Nashville while we are in session, come by and visit me in the Legislative Plaza. Remember, it is your government and you should be a part of the process.

Thank you for allowing me to serve.

Sincerely,

Bo

Meet Glenda Mayes, Sen. Watson's Legislative Assistant
Hi, I am Glenda, Sen. Watson's legislative assistant. I have been married to Larry Mayes for 38 years. We have two children, Dawn and David. I thank my family for the flexability to attend to the State of Tennessee's legislative business. I am a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Hendersonville, TN.

I have had the pleasure of serving the 11th senate district of Hamilton County for the past 12 years. I have served the Hamilton County delegation for 6 years and served on the staff of the Environment, Conservation and Tourism standing committee for 2 years.

I look forward to serving District 11 of Hamilton County as administrative assistant to Sen. Watson in the upcoming years. Thank you for the opportunity to serve and as always, feel free to call Senator Watson's office at any time - remember, I am here to help you.

Meet Thomas Wennerstrom, Sen. Watson's Intern
Thomas is a student at UT-Chattanooga majoring in political science. He is from Hixson, Tennessee and attended Chattanooga Christian School before UTC. Thomas is participating in the university internship program which allows him to get course credit while working in the Senator's office.

Other Interns in Bo's Office
Neely Campbell (left) and Sarah Farthing are interns from MTSU majoring in Pre-Law. Neely and Sarah are assigned to Sen. Jim Tracy, but work out of Sen. Bo's office and are very helpful to Bo. Bo believes that the best learning experience a student can have in the legislative process is to intern at the state capitol.
